Paid long term and short term parental leave
MetLife will provide:
- Payment equivalent to 12 weeks for long term parental leave; and
- 2 weeks paid short term parental leave.
Annual medical check up
MetLife covers the cost of one ‘health check’ medical at Good Health Solutions:
- every calendar year for staff aged 55 and over; and
- every second calendar year for staff aged 45-54.
Health and Wellbeing week
An annual event where a week is dedicated to health and wellbeing activities in the office including healthy heart checks, iridology, massages, nutrition seminars and fitness classes.
EAP
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a free service available to all associates and their immediate family. Services include face to face counselling and 24/7 telephone counselling for personal or work related issues.
Gym
Free gym facilities including up to date equipment and classes are available to all permanent and contract staff.
Social club
Company sponsored Social Club organises the annual Christmas Party, sporting activities and quarterly social events.
Further education
MetLife reimburses fees and other associated costs up to a limit of $6,000 each calendar year for study related to an employee’s current job or future job within the organisation. Employees are also entitled to study leave for examinations and preparation.
Professional membership and associations
MetLife will pay up to a maximum of $600 for professional association membership fees, and up to $100 per annum reimbursement for professional development requirements.
Superannuation
After 3 years of service, if an employee salary sacrifices additional superannuation, MetLife will match it up to the value of 3% of that employee’s fixed annual remuneration.
Salary continuance
Any employee suffering a temporary disability can receive (after 3 months) 75% of their salary for up to 5 years.
Reward & recognition awards
Bi-monthly reward and recognition events are held to recognise employees who go above and beyond and demonstrate the MetLife values. A role model of the event is chosen each time and goes into the running to win a $1,500 Flight Centre voucher and the title of Role Model of the Year.
Massages in the office
To recognise the efforts of all employees, massages are held in the office on a regular basis.
