MetLife expands 360Health with Teladoc Health partnership

MetLife Australia has today announced a major new partnership with market leading virtual health provider, Teladoc Health, which will see the expansion of MetLife’s award winning 360Health program.

The new partnership will see MetLife roll out a comprehensive virtual care program in the first half of 2021, offering our retail customers a range of easy to access services online. MetLife will be making available through the Teladoc portal: Mental Health Assist, Expert Medical Opinions, GP support, and Nutrition assessments. MetLife is the only life insurer to offer the full suite of Teladoc options, with the services available to eligible retail customers and their immediate families being gradually rolled out throughout the year.

This transformative care program delivers all services virtually, to provide a seamless digital experience that is also fully personalised to meet individual needs. The service is completely confidential and provides customers with peace of mind that their medical diagnosis and treatment plans are robust and appropriate. The program will be delivered via a bespoke mobile app, website and phone.

360Health is MetLife’s end-to-end health solution that includes tools, resources and information for holistic health management, and is designed to help customers prevent and manage serious illnesses so they can live healthier for longer. 360Health takes a holistic approach by supporting customers across the entire health spectrum from prevention, early detection, return to health and ongoing care, as well as providing financial support. The partnership with Teladoc Health will complement the resources and tools already part of the 360Health offering.

The virtual care program will be offered first to MetLife’s retail customers, via financial advisers, and data from MetLife’s latest Adviser-Client Relationship research shows this could be a unique selling point for advisers.

The research revealed 60% of those surveyed saw value in linking health and financial planning, particular younger respondents (aged 18-24) and small business owners. And more than half of people surveyed said they would access health information via their adviser and this value added service would make them more loyal to their adviser.

Commenting on what the partnership will mean for MetLife customers, Mark Raberger, MetLife’s Head of Health, said: “MetLife’s partnership with Teladoc Health marks a significant step in expanding our 360Health offering to meet customers needs. We know our customers are looking for better and easier ways to access health services. This virtual care program empowers them to access health support when they need it and in a way that is tailored for them. Health cannot be ‘one size fits all’.”

Echoing those comments, Jamie Vickers, Director, Australasia from Teladoc Health said: “Teladoc Health has an established and evidence based platform to deliver world class medical services via Telehealth. Like MetLife, we also believe in a holistic approach to health. There are synergies between our organisations and we’re looking forward to working with MetLife to support their customers on their health journey.”

MetLife’s 360Health program was awarded the Product Innovation in Health and Wellness Award at the Plan for Life Excellence Awards 2020, and the Gold Stevie® Award for Innovation in Heath & Wellness at the seventh annual Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards in 2020.
