MetLife offers a supportive work culture with an emphasis on collaboration both within local teams and across the MetLife global community.
We value diversity of background, thought and culture — which is why we've set up initiatives like the Women's Business Network to drive personal and professional development among our employees.
We want to help build a safe and supportive community, that offers a better quality of life for all. That's why we make Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) one of our core values.
In addition to our employee volunteer programs and charitable donations, we're proud to partner with organisations that promote mental health and wellbeing, resilience and inclusion in the community.
This year, we've chosen The Black Dog Institute as our supported charity — a world leader in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder.
Throughout the year, our employees carry out fundraising activities for Black Dog. To support them, we give all our permanent staff up to one day per year as paid volunteer leave, and match the funds they raise.
We know that a successful team is made up of happy people. So we create an environment to support the physical, social and emotional wellbeing of our employees.
Our employee Thrive program comprises a number of initiatives to achieve this vision, including:
When you salary sacrifice into your super, we'll match your contributions up to 3% of your annual income, after three years of employment (capped at $4,581 a year).
We'll cover fees and premiums for Death and Total and Permanent Disability cover, providing a financial safety net for you and your loved ones.
If you suffer a temporary disability, we'll keep paying you 75% of your salary plus 9.5% super until you turn 65.
We provide year-round activities to promote health and wellbeing — including skin cancer checks, flu shots and free fruit.
What's more, we give all employees an annual allowance to cover their own health-related activities.
We understand the importance of a healthy work-life balance. So we support flexible hours and working from home arrangements to help you get this balance right.
If you would like to take extra leave, you can buy up to two extra weeks (10 days), through salary deductions over 12 months.
We offer a free support service to all employees and their immediate family, including face-to-face or 24/7 telephone counselling for personal or work related issues.
We pay long-term parental leave up for up to 12 weeks — plus two weeks' paid short term parental leave.
We offer comprehensive health checks every year for staff aged 55+, and every second year for staff aged 45 to 54.
You'll receive special corporate rates and generous benefits on health insurance with our partner providers.
You can enjoy discounted prices when you travel or visit cultural sites.
We offer ongoing professional training and career opportunities to make sure you have the skills and support you need to reach your full potential.
As part of our commitment to ongoing education, we offer financial assistance to employees who wish to deepen their knowledge through short courses, tertiary studies and professional memberships. What's more, if you're undertaking further study, we'll give you leave to prepare for your exams.
Our people are our most valuable resource, which is why we recognise and reward our employees for their performance and achievements — with monthly, quarterly and annual awards.
