Deanne Stewart, Chief Executive Officer

Deanne Stewart is the Chief Executive Officer of MetLife in Australia, and has over 20 years of experience in the financial services sector. Prior to MetLife, Deanne served as the General Manager for Super, Marketing and Direct, BT Financial Group; Managing Director, Head of International Private Client Businesses for Merrill Lynch Investment Management Inc and Engagement Manager for McKinsey and Company in London. She has a Bachelor of Commerce, Finance & Marketing from the University of NSW, Australia, and an MBA from Yale School of Management, USA - Fulbright Scholar.

Gary Bailison, Head of Individual Insurance

Gary Bailison is the Head of Individual Insurance for MetLife in Australia. In this role, he is responsible for developing and driving MetLife’s Individual product and pricing strategies in the Australian market. Gary has over 12 years of experience in financial services, including senior roles in product, pricing, strategy and data analytics, and 8 years of experience in management consulting. Gary holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting/Finance) degree.

Luke Banfield, Chief Operating Officer

Luke Banfield is the Chief Operating Officer of MetLife in Australia. He joined MetLife in September 2014 and is responsible for the management, transformation and continuous improvement of the operations team, with a focus on delivering service excellence. Luke has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry across both the superannuation and insurance sectors. A proven track record of delivering large scale transformational change is underpinned by an ability to lead, motivate and coach high performing teams. Luke is currently undertaking his MBA at the Australian Institute of Business.

Tim Batten, Chief Information Officer

Tim Batten was appointed as Chief Information Officer of MetLife in Australia in July 2015. With over 25 years of experience in Information Technology, Tim brings a wealth of knowledge as an experienced leader of technically sophisticated businesses in Australia and internationally. Tim is responsible for promoting innovation by constantly being on the pulse of new technology trends and using them to fulfil customers' needs. He has an MBA from Melbourne Business School, a Bachelor of Engineering from Melbourne University and a Masters in Engineering Science from Monash University.

James Carey, Head of Reinsurance and Regulatory Affairs

James Carey was appointed the Head of Reinsurance and Regulatory Affairs at MetLife in Australia in May 2016. James has over 15 years of experience in the financial services sector including senior roles in distribution, product and marketing specifically within the life insurance industry. He also has experience in the financial advice industry. In his current role, James has responsibility for the Group Product, Pricing and Reinsurance activities as well as leading the Regulatory and Government Affairs portfolio for MetLife.

Allyson Carlile, Head of People & Culture

Allyson is the Head of People & Culture for MetLife in Australia, and is responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that are aligned to the business’ overall objectives. Allyson has over 15 years of HR experience in the financial services industry. Prior to MetLife Allyson worked with NAB Asset Management, Westpac, BT Financial Group and Barclays Global Investors. In addition to her broad HR generalist background, Allyson has extensive experience in Organisational Design, Talent Management and Leadership Development. Allyson has a Bachelor of Business, Management Accounting from the University of Technology Sydney.

Matthieu Louvrier, Head of Strategy and Transformation

Matthieu Louvrier is the Head of Strategy and Transformation of MetLife in Australia. In this role he is responsible for driving the strategic vision and ensuring the implementation of underlying initiatives. Matthieu has over 11 years of experience in strategy in Europe, the US and Australia with McKinsey & Company, Hewlett Packard and most recently as Strategy Principal, Business Banking for National Australia Bank. Matthieu has an MBA from the ESSEC Business School (Paris).

Blair McAuliffe, Chief Risk and Compliance Officer

Blair McAuliffe is the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer of MetLife's Australian business. Blair ensures that sound risk management and a healthy risk culture are integral to how MetLife does business. With 17 years of risk management experience, Blair has an extensive background in Insurance Risk, Market Risk, Credit Risk and Operational Risk across life companies and banks. Blair holds a Masters of Economics (Finance) and Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University, and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance from FinSIA.

Michael Rowe, Head of Legal

Michael Rowe is the Head of Legal and is a leading financial services lawyer with over 20 years of experience. He joined MetLife in 2013 and specialises in life insurance, superannuation and FSR and has worked for many years on successful product design and distribution, partner relationships and dispute resolution.

Chesne Stafford, Chief Distribution Officer

Chesne Stafford was appointed Chief Distribution Officer of MetLife in Australia in January 2015. In this role Chesne is responsible for designing and implementing sales and retention strategies to achieve the ongoing growth of the Group, Retail and Direct lines of business. Chesne has over 15 years of experience in distribution and relationship management roles within wealth management with a strong track record of sales leadership. Chesne holds an Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning.

Vince Watt, Chief Financial Officer

Vince Watt joined MetLife in Australia as Chief Financial Officer in June 2014. Vince has over 14 years of experience in the financial services sector and has a proven track record of leading large teams in transformational change programs and successfully executing on business strategies. Vince is a fellow of the Australian Society of CPA and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is a graduate of the University of Technology, Sydney.

Geoff Brunsdon
Geoff Brunsdon is the Chairman of MetLife in Australia and is currently Chairman of APN Funds Management Ltd, Sims Metal Management Ltd and IPE Limited. Until June 2009 he was Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking of Merrill Lynch International (Australia) Limited. Geoff was a member of the Australian Takeovers Panel between 2007 and April 2016. He is a Patron of Redkite.

Denis Wilkinson
Denis Wilkinson was General Manager, Diversified Institutions at the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority until his retirement in 2011. Denis is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of London and the Institute of Actuaries of Australia. Denis was appointed as a director of MetLife Australia in October 2012 and currently chairs both the MetLife Insurance Limited Audit and Risk Committees.

Brian Bissaker
Brian has over 30 years of experience in financial services having held senior positions as the CEO of Colonial First State and Virgin Money Australia and a Group Executive of the Bank of Queensland. He is currently a Director of MyState Limited, Monte Sant Angelo Mercy College and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Sydney Business School. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Brian was appointed as a director of Metlife Australia in August 2016.

Lyndon Oliver
Lyndon Oliver was appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Asia for MetLife in July 2016. Prior to his current role, Mr Oliver held CFO roles in the Americas and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions of MetLife. Mr Oliver also spent more than ten years in The Hartford Group of Companies, where he held a number of executive and managerial positions. Mr Oliver is a graduate of the University of Alabama, where he completed his MBA and majored in Accounting.
