Jim Farrell

Jim Farrell joined MetLife in September 2019 as the Head of Infrastructure and CTO for Australia. He served as Acting Chief Information Officer from May to September 2023 and reassumed the role on 1st January 2026. Jim is responsible for leading all technology functions, including Data & Analytics, Platform Delivery, Program Management Office, Production Management, Infrastructure, and Cyber-Security functions for Australia, within the Global Technology and Operations teams.

With over thirty years of experience in leadership and technology strategy development across Australia and the Asia-Pacific, Jim has a proven track record of driving technology change and building highly performing, engaged teams. Before joining MetLife, Jim led large integrated applications and infrastructure functions of up to 400 people. He has played key roles in transformational change programs, working with multiple Systems Integration partners, and has an extensive consulting background in technical support, serving clients in the Insurance, Government, Energy, and Medical sectors.
