MetLife wins new insurance mandate from Equip

MetLife Australia has been appointed as the new insurance partner for Equip Super starting from 1 July 2022.
Having participated in a competitive tender process, MetLife was awarded the mandate by Equip, citing the insurer’s ability to deliver long-term value and an optimised member experience.
Under the arrangement, Equip’s 140,000 members, which includes Catholic Super members, will have access to enhanced online functionality including an integrated application process for insurance applications and changes, and claims lodgement and tracking. In addition, Equip members will have access to MetLife’s award winning 360Health program, which includes a range of digital health services, rehabilitation programs and wellbeing initiatives.
Commenting on the addition of Equip to the MetLife stable, Richard Nunn, CEO, said: “We’re thrilled that Equip have chosen us as their insurance partner. As part of the tender process, MetLife was also able to demonstrate the ability to deliver a customised solution across a diverse membership base and support any future inorganic growth opportunities which is a strategic priority for the fund.
Transfer of the insurance arrangements from the incumbent insurers will begin in the New Year.
