MetLife Chair retires, new Chair and Board member appointed

MetLife Australia has announced the retirement of MetLife Insurance Limited Chair Geoff Brunsdon AM, after serving on the Board for 13 years. During his tenure, Mr Brunsdon chaired the organisation through major developments which included the launch of MetLife’s Retail business in 2018, launch of a new business strategy in 2020, navigating the impact of COVID, and more recently, the digital and operational transformation underway to deliver better customer experiences and pave the way for further growth.

MetLife has appointed Independent Non-Executive Director Nicola Wakefield Evans AM as incoming Chair, who has served on the Board since 2019. Ms Wakefield Evans is a highly respected and experienced Non-Executive Director of significant ASX listed, government and private companies. She is also an M&A and equity capital markets lawyer with extensive governance experience. Additionally, Julie Lander, former CEO of CareSuper, joins the MetLife Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director to fill the vacancy left by Ms Wakefield Evans elevation to Chair. Ms Lander has over 40 years of experience in superannuation, manufacturing and professional services industries.
