International Women's Day

International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women around the world. At MetLife, our theme is Transform the Future. Innovate for Change. which highlights our commitment to continue creating innovative solutions that foster collaboration, build inclusion, and engage our customers in the communities we serve around the world.

This year we are proud to announce we are joining the UN Women’s Global Innovation Coalition for Change (GICC). MetLife is the first and only insurance company to be invited to join the GICC, in recognition of our commitment to having a positive impact on society and championing diversity and inclusion in innovation. By becoming a member of the GICC, we are joining a global partnership with private sector, academia and non-profit organizations that collaborate to identify and remove the barriers to women’s advancement in innovation, technology and entrepreneurship.

Also for the 5th year in a row, we are globally sponsoring International Women’s Day.com, a hub for encouraging effective action for advancing and recognising women globally through news, events and resources.

This IWD we are inviting the MetLife family to #innovateforchange by continuing to create innovative solutions that foster collaboration, build inclusion, and engage our customers in the communities we serve around the world.

*Our first in-depth retail insurance quantitative study (n = 1,191) conducted in July 2018 and is the largest of its kind in examining consumers and business owners who have purchased life insurance through an adviser. MetLife researched three groups: Consumers who have sought professional financial advice on life insurance (“consumers”); Consumers who are not currently using a financial adviser but are likely to see an adviser about life insurance in the next two years (“potentials”); Small to medium enterprises with up to 20 employees who have sought professional financial advice on life insurance (“SMEs”).
