MEDIA RELEASE
Sydney, 29 April 2026 – MetLife Australia has announced the expansion of its award-winning 360Health offering, introducing a virtual early-intervention Mental Wellness Coaching Program designed to help Australians proactively manage mental strain and reduce the risk of more severe mental health impacts.
According to MetLife’s research1, nearly 1 in 3 (32%) working Australians report experiencing high levels of mental strain, with symptoms including fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and insomnia.
Further, 1 in 2 say their career, employment, and earning capacity have been negatively affected by their mental health. Many have exhausted the annual leave balances (42%), delayed career progression (35%) or changed jobs or roles due to mental strain (30%).
Recognising the need for early, accessible support, MetLife has expanded its 360Health offering to include a virtual Mental Wellness Coaching Program, for fast and easy access to preventive health support. This program provides up to 3 one-on-one check-ins with qualified mental health professionals, giving individuals practical tools and strategies to manage stress and maintain emotional wellbeing. This expansion also supports advisers by giving their clients access to mental wellbeing support alongside insurance protection.
MetLife is responding to the clear need for proactive and effective support. Left untreated, mental health conditions tend to be more severe and make recovery time longer, which can ultimately have a financial impact if individuals need to take extended time out of the workforce. Our goal is to empower customers to take control of their mental health, reduce stigma, and prevent issues from escalating into more severe episodes.
The new service complements the 360Health Mental Health Assist service, which provides customers with direct access to qualified psychologists or psychiatrists when they need more specialised support. While coaching focuses on early, preventive help with everyday stress, Mental Health Assist supports customers who want to discuss their symptoms, explore clinical assessment options and better understand appropriate treatment pathways. Together, these services offer flexible, personalised support across different mental wellness needs. Data shows that 73% of people had their diagnosis adjusted and 77% had their therapy modified, with the majority reporting a major positive impact on their recovery, through Mental Health
Assist in 2025.
360Health is available to all eligible MetLife customers and their immediate families, including partners, children, parents, and parents-in-law. Services are also available to advisers with a MetLife code.
